Princess of Jericoacoara — Brazilian Folklore Framed Art Print
Part of the Living Myths — Brazilian Folklore Collection, this artwork is inspired by the legend of the Princess of Jericoacoara, a mysterious enchanted woman whose story belongs to the oral traditions surrounding Jericoacoara, on the coast of Ceará, in northeastern Brazil.
According to the legend, a beautiful princess remains enchanted beneath the rock formation known as Pedra Furada, waiting for the spell that holds her there to be broken. Like many stories passed down through generations, the legend exists in different versions, blending landscape, memory, enchantment, and local imagination.
This illustration is my interpretation of a story in which the landscape itself becomes part of the myth.
It’s printed on a quality matte paper and framed with a semi-hardwood alder frame.
